The 5 Rules

Take a deep breath and let´s create the right atmosphere to roll on.

Let´s introduce the third Big 7

Rules help children to show independence and
 a sense of responsibility.
We start from the very first day.
WBT rules are set up into 5 rules, easy to follow and that cover all needs to help on that lovely environment.

Let me tell you, kids learn them in a flash.

As all teachers do, we set up rules in the classroom the very first day. I would even call them "The golden rules". They surely must have been of goal as I only talked about them the day we set them up and whenever that rule was broken.
                                      Now, was that working?
I will say:"NO way!"
Everything began to change when I began to use the WBT 5 classroom rules....
and this is why......

Rehearsing the rules make them part of your class.

My second grade students, who are spanish in a bilingual school (second language English), learnt them in three days and were ready to have the class leader rehearse them with the whole class every day at the beginig of the class and if you are with them all school period, you can also rehearse them after recess and lunch.
Weep tears of joy!!!! And let me tell you.....It works!!
Now if a child breaks the rule, just say out the rule "Rule 1" and you will have the kids telling out the rule and back to routine.
Rules are followed by gestures
On this video you will see the gestures used for each rule.

Now, how can I introduce them? That is easy! Check out these great video by Chris Biffle
Rule 1 "Follow directions quickly!"
Rule 2 "Raise your hand for permission to speak!"
Rule 3 "Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat!"
Rule 4 "Make smart choices!"
Rule 5 "Keep your dear teacher happy!"
