The 5 step lesson plan

Where dreams come home!
Let´s get the Big 7 marching into class. How? That´s easy!

The 5 Step Lesson Plan for WBT
It starts from the most basic and scaffolds to deep, critical thinking.

This is how I work it out.
1. Question: What do I want my students to be able to learn by the end of the lesson. e.g. What is an adjective?
2. Answer the question using gestures. e.g. "An adjective changes the noun."
3. Give out examples. Start simple and built from there. "Tall is an adjective" or "Tall is an adjective because...."
4. Assessment. Use Quick Test (QT) to do the formative assessment.
5. Critical thinking. Make those deep connections across the curriculum.

It is very important to let our kiddos know that there is no need to raise their hands. They will all be allowed to be involved and take risk. Us teachers will make it possible and even more, we will bring up the "Call outs!"
Oh mama! Call outs is great stuff!
"Call outs!" But what is that?
When we are in the lesson, we want critical thinking to take place so to get this rolling in, when chunking our units, we will stop and ask a students a question. The students will share information, give examples,... using the "Class-yes" attention getter and then the "Mirror word" to say their answer.
This video clip only shows call outs. The next video will let you see how it works in a 5 step lesson.
Believe or not, we are helping our kiddos to be creative, adventurous learners throughout their lives.

Enjoy my 5 step lesson about living and non-living things.
