Praising!

Our children´s hearts will wither without our praise!

This is a routine that has no definite position in time, praising should always be part of the students’ learning process, as positive input can have a very positive impact on their development.

 It has brought up a great little tool to get everybody involved in giving praise!

"The ten finger Woo!"

How does it work in my classroom? 
When a child shares a good idea, gets involved, does a call out, makes a smart choice, 

                     I call out "let´s give them a 10 finger Woo!"

and the whole class turns to the student zapping their fingers and calling out "Woooo!"

I´ve found that my student value the great effort others do and they feel the need to give out their recognition for the good job.
Now what happens when work hasn´t been quite well done?
It is important to improve, why not try helping them in a positive way.
                    What can you do to make it look better?
                    Don´t you think something is missing?
                    I would love to see some....
And what happens if they give out the wrong answer?
WBT has really thought about that.

Are you ready to hear it?

Just tell them "You´re still cool!" The child won´t feel embarrassed and you quickly supply the right answer.
